Custom rendering for series element - visual template

I would like to visually distinguish a certain element in a series from the others if its value matches a given criteria (for example, value exceeds a threshold). Ideally, I'd want to add a hash to my bars, because I want to keep all items with the same color (I don't want to use the ColorField).

Something similar is available in Kendo: https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/bar-charts/visuals.

There are limited customisation options to visually distinguish elements in a series. For everyone else struggling with the same issue, we have found limited success with an SVG pattern workaround to offer some customisation, see REPL.

Hi.

We would also like to see more capability to distinguish chart series alongside elements like, borders and highlights. Our use case provides similar data from disparate sources. A distinct visual could quickly identify those elements rather than an abundance of text-based cues.
