Control when the preview (highlighting) of range selection will start and end

Redesign the highlighting of the range selection when selecting within an already selected range.

Current behavior:

The first click within an already selected range sets a new start date, and the second click in the selected period sets a new end date. This is ok but there is no highlighting (preview) of the new selection.

Expected behavior:

With the first click within an already selected range start the highlighting (preview) of the new selection.

That would be ideal! That would solve another use case we had:

The user clicks on the calendar control to select a start date
The user then clicks on a different control
The calendar highlighting stays in effect even though the user no longer wants to select an end date

If the developer could control both when to start and stop highlighting it would solve both of our use cases! Thank you so much for the time and consideration!

Could you please clarify what you mean by control when to stop the highlighting? Do you want to prevent it at all? Or you just need to confirm that if we provide the option to control when the preview starts, you'll be able to stop the highlighting once it has started?

I think that should work! I assume the same would be true for when to stop the highlighting?

As we discussed in your private ticket, this item is a feature request to change the highlighting of the range selection in the Calendar when the selection starts within the last range. Please let me know if providing an option to control when the preview (highlighting) will start and become visible would meet your needs.
