Microsoft.AspNetCore.Diagnostics.ExceptionHandlerMiddleware: Error: An unhandled exception has occurred while executing the request. System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.

App just crashed with the below exception.  My code isn't in the stack trace. Chances are there is no proper validation on parameters, allowing me to supply bad data, which later causes this problem.  Please validate the data better, debugging these things is not easy.

Hi Peter,

Bugs are subject to prioritization in the same way as feature requests (although the two types of backlog items do not compete with each other). So far this issue has been reported only once and we are not sure how exactly it occurs, which is rather unusual for a logged bug in our backlog.

We do have in mind to implement defensive checks, but we prefer to understand better what triggers the exception, instead of fixing something blindly. Perhaps another developer may come across this page with a more specific insight about their use case.

I am sorry if this issue is giving you a hard time. Did you by any chance have the opportunity to see what scenario produces the exception?

I expected than an exception which crashes the application and cannot be caught by user code to get fixed within 2 months of being reported.  

It's not that hard to write more defensive code.  We shouldn't have to vote on bugs like this to get them resolved.
