Using PlaceHolder in TelerikDatePicker adds unexpected invalid class

I produced this REPL: https://blazorrepl.telerik.com/QJbcvsFJ43Oc231U28

By clicking the Close X button on each DatePicker, the result shows the invalid state when the DatePicker uses a PlaceHolder.

I would like clarification on why this may be happening.

Or perhaps it is a bug.

Thanks for the provided runnable test page.

Indeed, the observed behavior is incorrect and I am converting your ticket to a public bug report for community tracking. The fix looks easy at first glance, so hopefully we will include it in the next release.
