The Grid header gets focus only for the first time when tabbing

Hi Telerik Support

Facing an issue with Keyboard navigation in Telerik Grid component. 

When we use TAB to navigate, the grid header gets focus only for the first time. After completing one round of navigation, second time after the Toolbar buttons, if we TAB out, focus goes to the pager sections skipping the grid header part.

Pls refer the REPL sample from Telerik website:

Steps to reproduce:

1) Use ALT + W and then use TAB key to navigate

2) First focus goes to the Toolbar button (Add Product), then goes to the Grid Header and then if we TAB again focus goes to the Pager section

3) After the Pager section, if we do steps 1 and 2 again, we can see that it skips the Grid Header focus second time onwards.

I actually missed this REPL, please accept my apologies for that.

I now understand you are targeting a Grid used in a Window. I see that you opened a dedicated bug report for that: https://feedback.telerik.com/blazor/1673807.

Let's keep it separately like so, since this can be treated as a different use case (Grid inside a Window).

I face the issue when I place the grid (same configuration as the originally reported configuration) in a TelerikWindow.

Hi Bably,

This item was recently closed as the problem cannot be reproduced with the initial reported configuration: https://blazorrepl.telerik.com/GHOUEQPu32fDqVkl23.

However, I am also still able to reproduce the issue if there is no other focusable element in the Grid after the header. For example, if we remove the pager: https://blazorrepl.telerik.com/GSbGPCvf13oQHrF729.

Having this in mind, I'm reopening the issue.

Is this the scenario you are testing, too? If not, please provide the exact configuration you are hitting the issue in, so we can consider it when working on the fix.

Hello Telerik Support, 

 

I have upgraded my version to 7.0.0. But unfortunately, the fix does not work when the TelerikGrid is inside a TelerikWindow.

As of R2 2023, the default icon type will be SVG instead of Font. See this blogpost for more information.
