Ability to filter the fields in the dropdown
We have a large number of fields and it will be useful if we have a search box in the field dropdown to filter them - in a similar fashion to how filtering works in the DropDownList component.

As a quick follow up, the team has agreed to discuss the inclusion of this feature (implementation, tests, documentation) in the planning for the 2026 Q2 release.

Not having this feature is really becoming an issue for our customers ☹️ I have had a look at the source code and have put together the code to implement this and it is very simple. I have attached all the details of the implementation in the attached markdown file. We would really appreciate if this feature could be included in an upcoming release.
