Hi Chrysostomos,

This fix didn't make it to the 4.0 release, but it's still in our short-term to-do list. Sorry about the delay.

Hello Johan and everyone,

Currently the DateInput tries to parse the entered value on every keystroke. As soon as the month part becomes 0, parsing fails.

As this item status suggests, we will introduce enhancements that will address this for version 4.0, due in January. The Telerik Blazor roadmap page shares some additional information.

Regards,
Dimo

This is especially serious when using a date format like yyyy-MM-dd that always show a 0 for month 1-9 and day 1-9. Then a user expects to be able to enter for example "01" without clearing the field. The bug occurs both for the month and day field.

When the user types 0 in with the month selected , the entire date time values goes blank and shows the format. It is reproducible on your demo a well

https://demos.telerik.com/blazor-ui/datetimepicker/incremental-steps

to reproduce,

  • click inside the date shown on the example on the above page  to select the year
  • press tab/arrow until the month is highlighted
  • press 0
  • entire date is cleared and the format is shown
