Hi Federico,

Indeed, we had to push the Dock Manager implementation a bit. We are already working on the component and ideally we will release it in early 2025. The Roadmap page is a more high-level outline of our general product direction as the disclaimer says, so this feature request page and its status label are the official source of truth about our progress and timeline.

Hi Fabio,

Yes, we have included a DockManager in our roadmap for late 2024. When we assign a specific release, the status of this item will change and there will be a date. Stay tuned!

Hello everyone,

We appreciate your feedback and business needs.

Indeed, the Dock component is a popular feature request, but there are a few other components that are a lot more demanded and we are focusing on them in 2023 - for example the Pivot Grid and ListBox. For the time being, I don't expect a docking component to make it in 2023, or at least our current plans don't include it.

I realize this may be unfortunate news, but at least I hope this will help you make a decision what to use instead.

I am evaluating some Blazor Components Libraries for a new project.

I found that Telerik components are very well structured. You are clearly in my top-3 preferred components vendor.

Other vendors have a such "DockManager" component (examples : Infragistics Dock Manager, Smart HTML Elements)

I have seen that this feature request is already opened for a long time, and for my goal, TileLayout does not make all the job.

It would be great if you plan this in a near future...

Similar situation here - there is already a version from a competitor that we are considering. We'd rather stick with Telerik but if push comes to shove we might have to switch.

Hi Ben,

The current status of the item is "Unplanned" which indicates it is a valid request not scheduled for implementation yet. The easiest way to follow its progress is to subscribe for the item. Unfortunately, at this stage, I am not able to confirm a firm estimate on its implementation.

For the time being, can you please share some details on the exact scenario you want to achieve with a Docking component? I'd like to revise it and consider whether it can be achieved with a custom configuration of the TileLayout component and suggest an alternative, so the lack of a Docking component is not blocking for your application development.

For example, if you want to allow the user drag and reorder some panes and then dock all of them to fixate the desired layout, this can be achieved with the TileLayout component. As my colleague, Marin, mentioned, this component does not allow docking functionality but there can be a workaround - toggle the Reorderable property once the user is happy with the tile order to prevent them from further reordering. Thus, you can dock all tiles to a specific position.

I look forward to hearing more about your use case to validate if this would be a useful approach! Thank you in advance!

Hi,

This feature request has been open for over 2 years. Is this something that Telerik plan to build, or should it be closed off? We've been holding off on selecting a control vendor for a year already in the hope that this would be confirmed - the lack of information makes it difficult to know what to plan for.

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Mark,

The best way to know when something happens is to click the Follow button. You may also want to keep an eye on the roadmapfor slightly longer term plans.

Hi,

Now that we can pretty much start using Blazor for desktop applications, has there been any progress on this front as this would be an immensely useful component?

Thanks,

Mark

Hello Michael,

For the time being, you can consider the TileLayout. It allows dragging and resizing, but no docking.
