RadDropDownList autocomplete stops working

There is still an issue related to the drop down auto complete described in this bug report.

https://feedback.telerik.com/winforms/1468737-raddropdownlist-autocomplete-mode-works-only-the-first-time-afterward-i-can-only-type-1-character

After downloading the Release R2 2020 SP1, we can now enter more than 1 character. However, if the user keys the space bar the text in the edit area of the drop down is deleted. Additionally, if the first 2 characters are the same (for example AA), the second character is never added to the text. The issue can be re-produced using the same steps as the linked post. I have also attached a screenshot.

Let me know if you need any additional info.

Hello, Seth,

Thank you for the provided details.

I have followed similar steps and I did select an item from the autocomplete drop down. It seems that space and "AA" are not correctly entered on my end as well. I confirm that this is an issue with the autocomplete functionality in RadDropDownList

You can track its progress, subscribe for status changes and add your comments on the following link - feedback item.

I have also updated your Telerik points.

Currently, the possible solution that I can suggest is to use AutoCompleteMode.Append. We will do our best to introduce a fix as soon as we have a stable solution.

Stay tuned and make sure that you follow this item in order to get notified once the status chages.

Just like with the original issue, you have to select an item to reproduce. I've attached a sample that shows the behavior. I changed the AutoCompleteMode to SuggestAppend so I could also show that the issue only seems to occur when you select an item with the mouse, but could also reproduce with Suggest.

Thanks,

Seth

Hello, Seth,

Indeed, the illustrated behavior in the video seems weird.

Following the provided information, I was unable to reproduce the issue you are facing with the latest version. Please refer to the attached gif file illustrating the behavior on my end with the specified version. Am I missing something? Could you please specify the exact steps how to reproduce the problem?

I have attached my sample project. Feel free to modify it in a way to reproduce the experienced issue and get back to me with it so I can investigate the precise case. Thank you in advance.

I am looking forward to your reply.
