Thank you for the suggestion regarding a TooltipTemplate parameter for the GridColumn.

After a recent evaluation of the request with the team, we can confirm that we understand the importance of contextual data presentation in enterprise applications, and we agree that tooltips can enhance user understanding significantly. However, we have a KB article that showcases an approach that shows a Tooltip in the Grid on demand. The current approach allows developers to implement highly flexible and customizable tooltips using the existing Grid Column Template capabilities along with the Telerik Tooltip component.

Introducing a dedicated TooltipTemplate within the Grid specifically would require exposing a wide range of configuration options (e.g., positioning, delays, animations, content binding, etc.) to match the versatility already achievable with the existing solution. This added complexity would not provide meaningful advantages over the current approach, which remains more adaptable to diverse scenarios.

With that in mind, I'm marking this feature request as "Declined".

We do, however, remain committed to improving the developer experience, and we’ll continue monitoring feedback in this area. If future demand indicates a need for simplified, column-level tooltip templating, we’ll gladly revisit the idea.
