Enable Tab Strip to have additional content within the tab (like an icon)
Enable an option for notification/adorner/icon in the Tab Strip tab.  This would allow like a 'notification dot' to alert someone of key information.  The template approach may work, but nice to have a discreet API for this for databinding purposes.

I'm adding your vote for the feature and closing this one as a duplicate.

 

In the referenced feature request page, you can also find a hacky workaround which may do the work until the feature is implemented.
