Hi Peter,

Thank you very much for the additional details provided. It gave me a better understanding of the desired functionality.

As mentioned previously currently, the Shift + Arrow keys add the focused row to the selection. To be more descriptive, I am changing the title of the current item to 'Allow Grid selection using only arrow keys'. I am also changing the status of the item to 'Unplanned'. We will monitor the community's interest in the feature request and, based on the votes the issue gathers, we will consider wether to proceed with its implementation.

I remain at your disposal should you have any questions.

Regards,

Hi Neli

Thanks for the reply

I have data entry users who don't like to use the mouse as takes time to switch between keyboard and mouse.

I present them with a non-editable single select grid and they need to be able to use the arrow keys to move the single selected record up or down.  I then program in a function key to do stuff with the selected record.   If you look at how a multicolumn combo works that is what I need to replicate. (see attached)

I hope that explains it for you.

Regards

Peter

Hello Peter,

Could you please provide more details about the scenario and desired result? From the provided information I am not sure if you need to reorder the selected rows through the keyboard or if you need to be able to perform the selection without pressing the Shift key.

Currently, the Shift + Arrow keys add the focused row to the selection as described in our Keyboard navigation Demo (Shift + Arrow Keys (Only for the Multiple selection mode) Adds the row which holds the focused cell to the selection). However, as far as I understand, you would prefer to be able to add rows to the selection without pressing the Shift key. Is this correct?

Looking forward to your reply.

Regards,
Neli
