The requested functionality is available in the Kendo UI for jQuery Drawer.

The Drawer supports data-driven item configuration through the items option. Items can be supplied as a collection and can define properties such as text, icon, selected state, custom attributes, nested items, and item-level templates.

The Drawer also supports MVVM integration. The following demo shows how to bind a Drawer-related event to a ViewModel method and control the Drawer through MVVM:

Please note that the MVVM demo uses a static Drawer template, while the items option is used for data-driven Drawer item configuration.
