I need this exact feature and am trying my best to implement it myself.

this is sohaib ameen here and I am working as a software engineer in lahore pakistan. I am using kendo uI controls in my project with asp.net. this time its kendo drag and drop but there are some issues with this control and I badly need a solution. Please let me know if someone can help.

Was this behaviour included in the Q2 release? If not is it scheduled in? 

Just want to add a request to include the drag and drop row reordering in the next release. It's as or more important in many projects as the column reordering in many projects. Also, please make sure that the reordering is tied to reordering an order column in the database. So, for example, a grid with menu items with a position or order column(int) is updated when the row is reordered.

+1  Reordering of columns is an expected behavior in grid controls.

As a developer evaluating this toolkit, the lack of this functionality has made a bit nervous rolling out KendoUI Company wide.  Primarily because this missing feature makes me wonder about any other basic features that aren't implemented in others controls...

E.g. I found node renaming in the tree control isn't provided either :-(    This one wasn't as big of a deal because I coded up a solution with jEditable...

Any ETA are appreciated

+1 for this feature. so many use cases for this. i love this feature in extjs and would love to see it kendo as well.

Indeed, this would  be very handy. Please also think about DnD between two or more grids or lists.

Thanks for considering this option. It's very handy. Please also consider dragging columns while you're at it. My clients love it because users can see the data in the order they want.
