Convert from Infragistics Windows Forms to Telerik WinForm

Hello,

Our product uses Infragistics controls. We have been in business for 21 years and since then we have been using Infragistics controls for WinForms. We would like to move to Telerik controls for WinForms, even though we already use Telerik controls for Blazor. Is there an easy way to convert them? Is there any plan to release a tool to convert them automatically? It will be very helpful and I am sure many companies are interested as well.

Hi, Adrian,

Thank you for your interest in the Telerik UI for WinForms suite. 

Currently, the only available tool for automatic conversion is from the standard WinForms controls to the respective RadControl from the UI for WinForms suite. Additional information is available in the online documentation: https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/winforms/winforms-converter/overview 

However, this sounds a reasonable request and considering the fact that the WinForms converter internally uses a XML file for mapping from what type of control to what other type of control to convert, we can try adopting a similar approach for any conversion process. It would be required to pass the XML file defining the matching pattern. I can't say for sure whether this approach can be accomplished but it is worth researching and we will consider it in the future planning. Make sure that you cast your vote for the item in order to increase its priority.
