Modifying date range begin / end values exclusively using begin / end inputs

Dear Kendo Support Team,

We use kendo jQuery DateRangePicker component, and would like to achive the following:

  • If we open the range picker by clicking the range begin value input, we would like to change the beginning of the range.
  • If we open it by clicking the end value input, we would like to change the end of the range.

Actually the control always changes the date range start value no matter which input is used.
Is it possible to achive the above described behavior?

Hello Peter,

Thank you for sharing the functionality that your project requires.

By design, the DateRangePicker is made to force users first to select start and then end range regardless of the date input selected. The logic here is that the end range must always be after the start range.

If you would like this thread could be converted to a feature request. If so, later on, it will be reviewed by Product Management. In case the functionality is reasonable and gains a lot of popularity will be acted upon and included in the RoadMap.
