Rotation Thumb for Diagram Shapes

Hi,

Your documentation mentions the rotation-thumb and also allows for some styling:

https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/api/javascript/dataviz/ui/diagram/configuration/editable.rotate

The only problem is, I cannot get it to display.

See: https://jsfiddle.net/6qmgj521/

Beware: I do NOT mean the 90 degree rotation buttons in the toolbar, but the rotation-thumb adorner!

I expect to see:

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor 'telerik diagram rotation

Kind regards,

Hans van Essen

Hello, Hans,

This thread is now converted to a public feedback item and it is available at:

Hi Alex,

For now this is indeed a workaround.

I would still prefer the rotation handle. Rotation using buttons just feels a little bit clumsy.
Can you convert it to a public feature request please?

Kind regards,

Hans

Hello, Hans,

I have found out what was the reason to remove the rotate in 2014 - it was because the tooltip was hiding it and it was decided to provide a rotate step option instead:

https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/api/javascript/dataviz/ui/diagram/configuration/editable.tools#editabletools

http://dojo.telerik.com/IkiKONaB

Have a look at the runnable example and let me know what you think. If you see any shortfalls, please let me know how it is currently being used in the project.

If you like, we can convert this to a public Feature request to return the rotate handle from before.

I apologise, it's indeed only working with 2014.

Can you please check if it's possible to polyfill this behaviour back in for the time beeing?

Hi, Hans,

This is very unexpected indeed. I tested it with 2017.2.621 and it does not seem to work. Would you mind taking a look at this dojo and letting me know if I should change anything to get it to show with the version you mentioned?

Look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Alex,

Allright, that's strange indeed, because it seems to work perfectly in that version.
https://kendo.cdn.telerik.com/2017.2.621/js/kendo.all.min.js"

Is there any chance I can use this specific diagram version next to the 2020 release

or

is there any way to implement this adorner myself?

Kind regards,

Hans van Essen

Hi, Hans,

Thank you very much for getting in touch to inquire about this diagram feature.

Unfortunately, it appears that the free shape rotation of the diagram has been removed at the end of 2014 and the team at the time has missed updating the documentation to reflect this breaking change. I have logged a task in our internal backlog that we should document the change and updated your Telerik points for bringing this to our attention.

It works as expected in 2014 R1 in this test: http://dojo.telerik.com/EFOvOpUs/2

I am afraid that the toolbar and tools rotation is the only available option at the moment. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience that this may cause you, we will investigate what forced us to revoke this feature and see if it is at all possible to overcome any issue that it may have caused in the past so it could be added back in the future.
