TreeView template leaks memory on changes in the observable

Reproduction of the problem

  1. Run the attached page in the browser.
  2. Take a 20 sec long heap snapshot. During these 20 sec click the "change" button to make changes to a specific node's data in the observable.

Current behavior

There are multiple detached span elements: screenshot
Memory consumption increases with every change: screenshot

Expected/desired behavior

Environment

  • Kendo UI version: 2019.2.619

Hello,

I've sent an individual reply to each Support ticket in which the discussed here bug was reported. 

The two cases reported by John and Andy happened to be triggered by different sources. The fix for the described here bug report will be introduced in our next LIB(Latest Internal Build) which is expected to be released this Tuesday or Wednesday. If there are no new issues with it, the fix will be officially released with the next official release planned for 18.09.2019

The solution for the case reported by Andy is to use the setDataSource method of the TreeView instead of the DataSource data method when updating the DataSource of a given TreeView

This issue is impacting our customers in their production environment, effectively making the application unusable.  It has been escalated by a number of our customers.

Same issue found. We do require a fix asap for this issue as it's causing major issues with performance using this tool.

It will be fixed depending on its impact and our priority queue. I cannot say when exactly this will happen, but you can follow the current thread. Once there are any updates on it, you will receive a notification.
