In the Visual Theme Builder (fresh installed Telerik UI for WinForms) you'll get an error because the directory "VbsRecoveryData" seems to be missing. Creating the directory before "package.Compress(path)" fixes this for me.
Hi Pascal,
Thank you for the additional steps.
If I follow the steps, such an error does not appear on my side. However, I have created this folder from an older version of VSB. If I delete it and try again, the steps, an error appears. I am not sure if this folder was created on your machine. But this needs to be handled on our side. The feedback item will be approved, and the status will be changed to Unplanned. When this behavior is planned for fixing, we will update the item's status so that you can be notified if you have followed the item.
Until this behavior is resolved, you can use the workaround described in your first post. Your Telerik Points are updated for bringing this to our attention.

Hi Dinko,
I've just installed 2025 Q2 the first time and want to blend the Win11 Compact & Dark Compact themes for my application.
After I continuously got this error I tried to debug the source code and added the line you can see in the picture.

Hi Pascal,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Upon looking at that image, I see that you have run the Visual Style Builder code solution. I have also done this, but could not observe this error on my side. May I ask you to share the steps you performed on your end so that I can follow them and try to get this error?
I am looking forward to your reply.
