On a grid with the pager refresh button enabled, when the refresh button is clicked, it stays in the highlighted/selected animation state. Only clicking off the button and somewhere else on the page restores the button to its initial visual state.

Since 2021.R3; prior versions do not animate the button on click thus do not exhibit this.

Hi Jamie,
The correct behavior of the kendo buttons is to have the focused mode on when clicked. This means the Button will have a certain border and box-shadow applied. What you are observing in previous versions was incorrect with the LESS themes and it has been fixed.
Also, have in mind that the Less themes will be deprecated with the Kendo UI R1 2023 release.
