Add a method for dynamically adding items to CheckBoxGroup
We would like to have built-in functionality to dynamically add new items to a CheckBoxGroup.

Thank you for the response and workaround. I already implemented that myself, but in my case I don't have a static list of data so I'm having to access the private '_items' property to retain the existing items. And that's not the only property, as we need to instantiate the checkboxgroup with all the same options we originally created it with, which means maintaining that data in a variable somewhere or copy/pasting code, neither of which are desirable.

One of the reasons I upgraded versions recently was for this control, so it would be nice to get it more feature rich so we can make better use of it (such as this request to get items via a DataSource like most other Kendo controls: https://feedback.telerik.com/kendo-jquery-ui/1515550-add-datasource-binding-for-the-checkboxgroup as well as being able to get the items dynamically rather than getting them via the '_items' property)

Hello,

Indeed, currently there is no suitable method for adding new items to the CheckBoxGroup after initialization. 

A possible approach to replace the items in the CheckBoxGroup is to destroy and recreate the widget. Here you will find a small Dojo example demonstrating such implementation. 

However, having a method would be a great feature to improve the CheckBoxGroup functionality. Thus, I am changing the status of the request to 'Unplanned'.

I would encourage you to cast a vote for the request in order to increase the priority of the item.
