Leading zeros are removed from cell value when being copied with the drag handler in the Spreadsheet.

Bug report

When you enter a value with leading zeros and then use the drag handle at the bottom right corner to change the value of the cells below, the leading zeros are being removed.

Reproduction of the problem

  1. Go to the Basic Usage example - https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/spreadsheet/index
  2. Enter "SS0012" as value in a random cell.
  3. Grab the handle at the bottom right of the cell and drag down.

Current behavior

The value entered for the cells below is SS13, SS14 etc.

Expected/desired behavior

The value entered for the cells should be SS0012, SS0013 etc.

Environment

  • Kendo UI version: 2021.3.914
  • Browser: [all]

Hello Jeffrey,

For now, the bug report status is "Unplanned", which means that the issue is not scheduled for fixing, yet. When the dev team is working on it, its status will be changed to "In Development", when the fix is applied in some of the releases the status will be changed to "Completed" and the release version will be mentioned. I would suggest you follow the item, thus you will be notified when we have progress on it.
