Indeed, you are correct and if a task duration is too small - the X button overlaps with the dependency handle. Unfortunately, the rendering and the actual size of the rendered task are tightly coupled with the duration of the task. That said, it would be misleading to set a min-width for the tasks.

That said, I would log this behavior as a bug and we will address this on a design level.
