When there are gaps between rows in a spreadsheet linked to a datasource, each cell edit adds a new row to the datasource with only the field behind the cell populated

Hi there,

When a spreadsheet is linked to a datasource, if you leave a gap between previously entered rows and your new data, each cell edit creates a new item in the datasource with only the cell modified.

Here is the record after adding one cell.

and after adding another cell:

This is the state of the spreadsheet:

I managed to replicate this in dojo here: https://dojo.telerik.com/eRiHocar

Hi Stephen,

After further testing I identified that the number of empty rows left is equal to the number of new unexpected records to be created by editing cells on only 1 row. E.g. leaving 2 empty rows and then typing in cell B, C, D and E would result in 3 records - the first one with value only from cell B, the second one with value only from cell C and the third one will have values from D and E.

Leaving 3 empty rows in the same scenario would result in 4 records, each having value from only 1 of the cells.

I am converting this thread to a publicly visible Bug report which may be used for tracking resolution progress. Currently there is no workaround for the issue. As a small token of gratitude for reporting this issue, I updated your Telerik points.
