Dot key on NumPad does not apply the correct decimal separator

Bug Report

Pressing the dot key on the NumPad does not apply the default decimal separator when the keyboard is set to EN-US/ UK. It always applies the dot.

Steps for Reproduction

1. Set the culture to a culture that uses the comma as a decimal separator - Italian.
2. Switch the keyboard to EN-US/UK.
3. Press the dot on the NumPad.
4. Validation prevents the input.

Dojo sample for reproduction:

Environment

jQuery version: 1.12.4

Kendo UI version: 2020.1.219

Hello Rascal,

We are currently working on fixing the issue. The applied changes need to be tested and the fix will likely be available in the upcoming service pack.

Just a quick precision, as it can be seen here https://dojo.telerik.com/@rascal.pavot/esiQudoD . The behavior described by Viktor is the one applying for version 2019R3; with the latest version (2020.2.513) the Numpad dot is triggering an error in French.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for the feedback. The developers will take it into account when working on the issue.

That said, the dot on the NumPad represents the default decimal separator for the keyboard that is used. If the keyboard is set to use a language where the decimal separator is comma then the NumPad dot key will produce a comma.

I think this problem may be worse than Telerik realise, because as far as I can see, a French keyboard has a Dot key (not a comma key) on the numeric keypad. So even if using an FR keyboard in FR-fr culture, it will still not work. Or am I wrong?
