The out of the box legend does not offer the ability to split its items and to show them as labels over the series (graphs).
Extract my attached zip file and look at the MSWord document which shows you where I would like to position the 2 legends.
To update this, half a year later - there has been no public interest in such an out-of-the-box capability, and achieving it is possible with the current features of the charts (see my previous post, I would recommend using the template as it provides the most flexibility).
Implementing a feature out-of-the-box where the legend renders somewhere around the series is a pretty heuristic task - what should the font and color be, where should it render (around which item of the series, above, below, on the left, right, at the top or bottom of the plot area) - it is very hard to define this in a way that will fit a generic need so it can be created as a feature that accommodates many scenarios. Using notes, templates or your own absolutely positioned HTML elements provide the desired level of flexibility, and providing the same capabilities with a new feature will mean that you will have to implement the same amount of code in order to have it so customizable.
Thus, I am closing this one to keep the portal tidy and to clarify to anyone in the future what the chart does - even if it is not a single property, but a few lines of code you have to write through existing features.
