OpenType font support for PDF export
Currently Kendo only supports TrueType fonts for embedding in PDF files. OpenType support would be great since it's a more modern format overall, and there are many fonts that are only available as OpenType (for example Google's Noto fonts).

Hi Akshat,

We will keep tracking the current issue and the requests from the community for that feature in the PDF Export. Currently, we do not have immediate plans to proceed with its implementation as there are tasks with higher priority and severity in our queue.

Google Noto Sans CJK are available as TTC or OTF and not TTF, I have checked it recently. This is causing issue with export PDF to support PDF with Asian Languages.

Can we please prioritise this request?

Hello,

There is also request for woff2" and "woff" as they plus OpenType are the formats used in fonts provided by Adobe TypeKit.

Please note that we ship a parser for TTF fonts that runs in the browser in order to be able to embed subsets in the generated PDF file. Adding support for other formats would be costly in terms of complexity and payload size.

On a side note, Google's Noto is available for download as TTF, see https://www.google.com/get/noto/
