But need to also have a great amount of interactivity, so the proposed work around wont fit my needs.  Need users to be able to create diagrams on the fly, will be bound to datasource and persisted in database.

I could see the use for this in the scenario of creating a kanban style board. Maybe even having a specific  'kanban' mode for the diagram control that generates a basic board layout.

Just for reference, link to a kanban control in another jquery/angular/etc framework

I am very interested in this.  one requiremet would be to support the creation of kanban and similar boards

Hi everyone,

There are a lot votes for this diagram, with little recent activity, so I wanted to comment and see the interest for this component in 2020. Feel free to comment if you are interested and share your needs/ requirements for the component!

Meanwhile, you can check this basic example, which shows a way to draw the swim lanes after the Diagram is rendered: http://dojo.telerik.com/@tsveti/ERaCUNEw
It isn't perfect in terms of interactivity, so panning and zooming are disabled for the Diagram, but if your scenario does not require a great amount of interactivity, it could work for you.
