Our grid supports case insensitive filtering, Anthony. 

You can test that on the following demo (http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/local-data-binding) for the ProductName column by choosing 'Contains' for filter operator and 's' for filter criterion. The result should include items with capital or small 's'.
