Telerik's answer here really disappoints me. There is a way to do it, somebody in dev. probably just shot back at management that it's not possible because they didn't want to code it.

There's no reason they couldn't use a detail row under the locked column table that is blank, then simply use the existing detail row rendered in the non-locked columns table. 
Users in most cases would be willing to deal with an offset detail row.

I can even think of at least 2 other ways to implement this feature.

In development, there's no such thing as "it's not possible". It saddens me Telerik took that stance with this feature.

I'm well aware of that; I'm stating that the feature is of value to me. I added this suggestion so that other people might vote on it and you could learn how many people feel this would be of value. I consider your response to be rude and unhelpful.
