Dataviz should be a separate package, and available through Bower.
I just want DataViz. I'd be happy to pay for the professional license, but I don't want all of the widgets and have to install everything. And please, make this manageable through Bower.

The custom download builder has a pretty simple interface where all Kendo UI components are listed. Thus you can choose via checkboxes which widgets and framework features to be included in the resulting combined js file. Once ready, you can download that file.

I hope this description gives you an idea of the tool, since it is exclusively available for clients solely, and is one of the additional benefits that comes with a Kendo UI purchase.

I actually can't customize my download apparently as I only have a trial version. So I can't figure out if we can actually use this because there is almost no documentation on what files I need to include so I can just run DataViz, and I can't roll a custom DataViz because I don't have a commercial version. This is really not a very user friendly way of doing business.

You can customize your download via our custom download builder (http://www.telerik.com/download/custom-download), accessible from customers after log in. Thus you can specify which widgets/framework features to be included in the resulting combined js file.

Only Kendo UI Core is available through Bower:
