We did this in R3 2016 - http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/scheduler/date-grouping

YEEES - waiting so long for this one... When will the Q3 release be available? Is this already implemented and available for test in a nightly build?

That are great news! Waiting quite long for that one! Looking at the Github-issue you implement the "group by date", but not the "day view", right?

Hi Kendo,
Any news about the R3 release? Would love to use this group by date feature soon.

Can we rely to have this in September?

This feature will be tentatively slated for our R3 release in September, guys. Stay tuned for the official R3 roadmap in the coming months.

Any updates regarding planning of the group-by-date feature? I would be also very interested in this.

See my responses below, Marc. We'll post in this thread once we have further updates.

You should really implement this grouping by date feature. It is a MUST-HAVE for the scheduler as it is a core thing when using the component (don't understand why this has not been implemented in the first version of the scheduler). I have just seen that this user thread has most votes of all 333 requests for "Kendo UI Web". How many reasons do you need to implement it and how long do you want to still hold it back to the users?

I cannot make a firm commitment for the ETA of this feature yet, Pascal, but I can confirm its priority is raised and it will be considered as part of our R3 planning.

Hi Kendo team,
Can you confirm already the September release for this feature? I am asking, because we need a scheduler component like Kendo's incl. the "group by date", but the tool is planned to be developed until Nov 2016. If you can confirm we will go for Kendo UI Ultimate, otherwise we need to select another vendor.
Kind regards
Pascal

By R2 I mean release #2 for this year, Douglas. This means that the feature will be considered for R3 (due in September) at the earliest.

Cool, I am also waiting a long time for the grouping of dates. Happy to hear that you think about to fix this finally.

What means 'RC2' in 'beyond RC2'? When is it planned to release 'RC2'?

We always listen to your feedback, guys, especially when feature suggestions are voted by many users. Yet you are probably aware the Kendo UI engineering team has restrained capacity and if it is occupied with other high-priority items, features like this one cannot be included quickly as much as we all want.

What we can commit right now is we'll raise the priority of this feature for our releases beyond R2, and include it at first opportunity when time and planning permits.

Kenshin, I like the idea of Jan starting with the 'group by date' functionality in one of the next releases first. Is this something you can imagine?

This request is a good example which confirms my impression that user voices are not really considered in the roadmap. The request is supported by many users, is a slight extension and has been requested quite a while ago. So why not listen to your users (= customers) who know best what is needed? Unfortunately I have seen it with other requests as well that it takes ages to get them in or not at all. Sorry to be so negative, but when you don't listen to your customers you should not ask them!

Hello Kendo, First I want to say that your tools are awesome. Regarding the scheduler I miss alos the grouping as it is a common case to have the dates on the top. Would be cool to get it in.
Kind regards
Evan

Would also like to express that the date-grouping is a must-have-feature for me. This should come out of the box and you have my votes to get this soon.

Good point Jan - we are interested mainly in the "group by date" as well. Excited to see whether Kendo team shows some flexibility regarding priorities.

May be an idea for consideration: The initial request asks for "group by date" and "visible date intervals for day view". When reading the comments most people (me included) are waiting for the "group by date"-feature. May be it's worth about thinking only to ship this earlier (when it makes it easier to integrate it in your roadmap).
Imported User
Posted on: 16 Feb 2016 10:06
Hoping really that you listen to the community and ship this feature a little bit earlier. When looking at the votes it seems that there are quite some people who are waiting for it.

Thanks for the feedback, folks. I'll channel it to our devteam.

For now our tentative timeframe for this feature is as explained below (due to other items with higher priority on our roadmap).

Richard, totally agree with you!!!

I don't understand why you cannot push it a bit? A lot of people requesting this feature since almost 2 years and it's "just" about an additional grouping in the control (it's not about writing a completely new widget...). Isn't this the whole idea about the user feedback to get priorities based on user requests? Kendo guys - please rethink your timeframe - a delivery within the next 6 months should be possible!

It is not decided yet, hence we cannot commit to a specific timeframe, Tobias. It won't be sooner than 6 to 12 months, though.

Hi Kenshin,
Good news, but can you a bit more concrete in which release it can be expected? In the posts below something similar has already been commented in February 2015 (1 year ago). We have also a potential customer for this, but they would not wait 6-12 months for it.
Thanks
Tobias

When can we expect to get this? Feature is requested already since 2013 and indeed the scheduler is only partly usable without this...

This is really a crucial feature for using the scheduler control! One client of us is currently evaluating Kendo and if this feature is not in they will use a competitor framework.

Looking for grouping of resources beneath dates, instead of the other way around (how it currently works). Like this post states...
http://www.telerik.com/forums/resource-grouping-below-dates

Like you do here for asp.net control (click on "Week" then check "Group by Date" ("Group by Speaker" should already be checked)...
http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/scheduler/examples/resourcegrouping/defaultcs.aspx

Other web pages asking for the same thing...

I still consider this a pretty important feature, your competitors have it and your WPF/Winform controls have it so for parity sake Kendo should have it.

Adding on to this thread. I also have a client who is requesting this functionality. My understanding is that the RadScheduler already has this functionality. Please extend this to the Kendo scheduler as well.

Important to me as well, surprised it's not available already as it's a common thing I've had to do in previous roles using different controls.

I think grouping resources by date is a great feature.
I'm evaluating Kendo UI Scheduler but I need this feature in my website.

Are there any plans to develop this feature in a short time?

We are very disappointed to not have this feature as well. Our clients want to see their week laid out so they can see at a glance what resources are still available for a given day. Grouping by date then resource in the weekview is the way they can see this. Please add this feature.

This will be a very handy feature. Our clients have refused to use the scheduler since we cannot provide this feature with Kendo UI. They need to have the ability to group by date and then by resources. It will be good to get this feature done
