Kendo UI Editor Table Wizard
It would be nice if we had a Table Wizard (as in RAD Editor) for changing formatting for tables inside Kendo UI Editor (e.g. changing style and color of borders, font and background colors for cells, merging and splitting cells, setting size of the table, and other features that exist in RAD Editor). We're migrating to Kendo UI from RAD controls and Table Wizard for Kendo UI Editor is needed.

Are you planning to implement something like Table Wizard in the near future?

We shipped a table wizard in our R3 2016 release - check the documentation:

This is really needed to make the editor useful in app used for novices.

Being able to insert a table now is actually causing me more work, not less, as people put them in, and then can't edit them. If they has html knowledge to edit them, they would not need to use the editor to create them in the first place, so we really need this feature badly.

You need to right click and be able to insert and delete rows/cols.
Edit table properties.
Merging would be great.
Basically, look at dreamweaver functionality and provide that int eh editor and you'll be golden.

For me this is the biggest weakness in Kendo UI tools, BY FAR....

When is this coming?
I may end up moving away from Kendo because of this, and just use something like CK editor which already has all this functionality.

Especially the table select function, size width and height with mouse, background color, line color, line thickness, cell merge.

The improvements slated for our html editor in R2'16 are outlined in this blog, SDT:

Advanced table wizard implementation is tentatively scheduled for our R3 release, expected in the early autumn.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Good news is we'll contemplate Kendo UI editor improvements for our R2 release, expected in May this year.

We used the RadEditor and it had a wealth of features no longer available in Kendo. Table borders/cell borders are something our users set a lot. We can't expect them to learn HTML to be able to do something they used to do with ease. Please implement more features on the editor as soon as possible.

I myself would also be glad to see cell merge functionality, at least on a horizontal level :)

In RAD Editor there was a visual tool which was called "Table Wizard" which our users used quite often. Using that tool they were able to change colors, borders and widths of columns without having to modify html manually.

We'll try to implement a similar functionality ourselves then. Thank you for the clarification.
