New open source Core license, disappointed! Bait and Switch????
Wow, I am more than shocked with the new Core license vs gpl, I mean this feels like a slap in the face for all the users who have helped you debug and enhance the product these last few years.
Now with the new license you cripple us, no grid, no scheduler, nothing of great value anymore.

Telerik, what is going on?? Been with you guys since 2002 asp.net commercial, and recently with kendoui gpl

I do appreciate the gpl of kendoui but to make such a dramatic change to the open source product is extremely hurtful.

It would be great to keep the gpl license in addition to the apache and continue support for gpl as normal. Having a half-baked open source product pushes users to look elsewhere.

Again big disappointment and just feel used for my hard work in supporting the gpl product and the products I am developing in gpl that will now not be supported in the Core since the components no longer exist. Horrible decision on your part!!!!!

Bait and Switch practices!!!!

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that such licensing changes may be disturbing for existing users, and did our best to make them as frictionless and pain-free as possible.

Kendo UI Web GPL continues to be available on NuGet (http://www.nuget.org/packages/KendoUIWeb/). It also stays accessible as a product download on telerik.com for people who downloaded it before April 16th, under their site account's Products & Subscriptions > Trials & Free > Free products section.

Therefore, those of you who would like to keep on using it in GPL-compatible projects can do that indefinitely, with the assumption the product won't receive any updates in the future.

For people who would like to receive updates and develop open source and commercial project with the OS/free version of Kendo UI from now forth, Kendo UI Core would be accurate and recommended library.

You can refer to this public FAQ (http://www.telerik.com/kendo-ui/core-faq) which answers general questions concerning Kendo UI Core, and explains why we made the decision to offer line-of-business widgets solely through the Kendo UI Professional package.
