Grid - Virtualization of remote data (odata) - Keyboard Support with virtual scrolling enabled
It will be nice to have keyboard support for Grid with Virtualization of remote data (odata) and virtual scrolling enabled.

As it can depicted in your demo:
KendoUI meets Wakanda, http://wakanda.spirit.de:8081/

if you try to press key down, the grid is not scrolling down when you bypass the limit of visible rows. In addition, if you scroll down using mouse (scrollbar), if you try to press key up then the grid is not scrolling up. Also, keyboard keys page up / down, home, end and in general keyboard functionality is not supported.

Despite of keyboard support, your demo is impressive!

Regards.

We have textboxes in each row and when you tab from the last visible textbox on the screen, it doesn't trigger the virtual scrolling.

Yes, the improvements should be there, Andrew, and you can also try out the latest 2015.2.805 service pack releases. If you encounter issues, feel free to report them via our regular support channels at telerik.com.

Did keyboard navigation with virtual scrolling actually make it into the Q2 release? I'm not seeing any improvement after updating. Thanks!

Your suggestion was merged with this item, since it overlaps partially with the functionality proposed here, Nathan. The additional comments from your side will also be taken into consideration for future grid versions.

Not sure why my suggestion was demoted to just a comment on this suggestion which doesn't cover my concerns at all.

Currently the virtualization feature on the Kendo grid is mostly useless if you want to use any other grid basic functionality. Although it works mostly, it has quirks that make it incompatible. It doesn't work with editing correctly (deletes cause it to calculate scroll bar size incorrectly). It doesn't work with row details (it causes certain rows to be unreachable). It doesn't work with pagination (pages and scroll bar don't stay in sync).

To me using virtualization to access data is a godsend as opposed to the more traditional pagination and because of that highly sought after convenience, it should be made to work with other basic grid functions.

I believe this is a very similar issue I am having and detailed in this forum post:
