As you know, apple announced the new direction the iOS will be taking. this will no doubtedly have a huge effect on the developer guidelines and therefore the app store submission process. If kendo mobile doesn't match the new look, the apps might get rejected.
Hi John, Yes, Kendo UI Mobile will use the iOS 5/6 theme for 5/6 devices, and the new theme for iOS 7 devices.
Released via an internal build for Kendo UI customers.
Will this release automatically use the older iOS 5/6 look and feel on older devices and the new iOS7 look and feel on newer ones? If not, how do we switch it dynamically ourselves ? Thanks.
Keeping up with evolution of look and feel on major platforms is important, otherwise defeat the point of choosing Kendo over other UI frameworks.
One of the reasons we use Kendo UI is it's tight adherence to the iOS look and feel as well as Android's look & feel as well. I would hope that this is switchable based on the OS version that the user is using.
Agreed. Not to mention that Kendo UI Mobile's emulation of "native" iOS US is a great usability feature. With the changes to the "native" look & feel in iOS, apps built using the current iOS emulation in Kendo UI Mobile won't fit with the rest of the UI. Ideally, there should be a way to keep the current emulation for iOS 6 and below, and offer a more conformant emulation in iOS7 devices.
