we implemented it by just rewriting the html in the regular editor: Yet, life-update of the colors is not working, as the tree-walker will sometimes jump into the wrong tags. So i gave up on the tree-walker and just colorize the code on switching to code-view.

All people who edit code are very delighted about this so far, as it makes it lots easier to read the code.

Another topic about this is now the indentation of the lines. Unfortunately the editor keeps trimming all lines, so it has to be saved in code-view, if one wants to keep the indentations.

Due to such issues a solution that is built in and in harmony closer with the sources would be highly appreciated.

I don't think many people keep reading through the feature requests that often. So to have six votes on this within two years is nothing short from spectacular and shows an immense interest in that feature :-)
