The visualizations of all annotations are defined by their normal appearance streams. This is already implemented in RadPdfViewer for the supported annotation types (Link and Widget annotations). It may be easily adopted for not supported annotation types as well. Available in 2017 R3 Official Release Version.
Hi Swetha and Scott, Thank you for the kind words, we are happy to hear that you like the functionality. As to the issue you are experiencing, I moved your inquiry in our support ticketing system by opening a thread on behalf of Swetha as the feedback portal is not an official support channel. Now you can find the support ticket in your telerik.com account. We will investigate the case and will write back to you in the ticket once we have any additional details. Regards, Tanya
Dear Telerik Team, Thank you very much for incorporating this feature so quickly. Our users have a strong requirement to review redaction annotations through pdf viewer, and this was implemented much faster than we were anticipating. While testing, we noticed that the redaction annotations did not move properly with rotated pages. We have attached a sample pdf that shows this. In the sample, the redactions on the first page show up properly, but the redactions on the second (rotated) page do not. Some of them are not rendered at all (probably because they have been calculated to be outside of the bounds of the page), and one of them shows up on the first page. Oddly enough, even though the red redact rectangle is not rendering in the right place on rotated pages, it seems that the clickable area for the redact annotation is still located where it should be. Additionally, when you click on a redact annotation, the black rectangle that replaces it does not always align with the original red rectangle, even on pages that are not rotated. Please feel free to contact me, if you require any further information. Thank you again for your work on this feature. Regards, Swetha and Scott
Hi Scott, Thank you for the provided feedback. As Borislav said, the priority of this task is already increased and we hope we will be able to implement it for one of our next releases. However, the planning is still being prepared, so I cannot tell an exact time frame when the feature will be available. Once the team starts working on this task, the item will be updated and you will be notified about that change. Regards, Tanya
I would also like to throw my support behind this feature. Currently, our users have to review redact annotations in Adobe, outside of our application. This is a core part of the business process, and it's inconvenient to our users to have to view the documents in a separate program. Having the annotations render (even without interactivity), would improve the usability of our software significantly. Is there any further information as to when this might be tackled? Thanks, Scott
We will increase the priority of the item in our backlog due to your request, but the roadmap for the next release (2017 R2) is full. The item will participate in the planning for the next release, but at this point I am not sure if it will be included.
Is there any plan to implement this feature, we have a strong requirement from customer for this feature.
