Hi all,

The network shared locations support will be available in our next official version – R3 2018, scheduled for the middle of September.

Best regards,

Thank you David. We may try to enable this option in the ContextMenu that is opened on "MyComputer" / "This PC" node. However, it might not be easy to refresh the structure in this case.

For a pinned network shared folders , I would suggest a workaround you can try even with the current version of our FileDialogs:

this.openFileDialog.CustomPlaces.Add("\\\\telerik.com\\distributions");

This should add the shared folder "distributions" in the custom places (similar to quick access in windows), if the 'telerik.com' is a name of a network computer or server.

Hi Petar, can the dialog also display saved network locations (stored under "Computer")?
That is if you right click on Computer in explorer (win 7) you get the option to "add a network location". This would allow you to create a "folder" under Computer with a friendly name to map to a dns address such as \\mycompanyname\myfolder\.

Thanks Sebastian. We will include typing UNC paths and network computer names in the address bar.

In a enterprise environment where a lot of files are on network hard drive, this is a mandatory features.
I am agree with Gary Shank, we need the same level of functionalities than Windows.
It may be obvious of what is needed but I really have to choose one feature it would be the possibility to enter a network path address and see the contained files (see attached image).

Petar, I believe the functionality we need is there with the exception that you cannot use network locations in the dialog. As stated previously, I guess I would expect at least the same level of functionality that the Windows file explorer provides. Thanks for following up.

Hi Joshua,
RadOpenFolderDialog does not support this feature. In future we will target all dialogs to include i, when we work on the implementation.

I just wanted to second this, would be the difference between using the RadOpenFolderDialog and not using it.
