Add support for textfields
In Word I can place text where ever I want, when I use textfields. This should also be possible with RadRichTextBox.

When exporting to PDF this should result in an extra layer for the textfield.

Hi,

The feature is already in our to-do list. Please follow the item at http://feedback.telerik.com/Project/143/Feedback/Details/113730-radrichtextbox-implement-support-for-content-controls-textbox-checkbox-etc .I'm closing this item to avoid duplication.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi!

I'm sorry I messed up my link somehow.

The feature I requested, was exactly the one you provided with your link to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/add-copy-or-delete-a-text-box-HA102749474.aspx#_Toc340150552

It would be really great to have this feature implemented.

Thanks for your efforts.

Hello,

I'm afraid I'm still not sure whether we are talking about the same feature. As far as I'm aware the "Text Box" feature in MS Word is the one explained here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/add-copy-or-delete-a-text-box-HA102749474.aspx?CTT=1#_Toc340150552 .

The link you provided points to the Field functionality of MS Word. In case you are talking about the functionality which in MS Word is available through the Developer -> Legacy Tool option in the ribbon and is demonstrated in the attached image please let me know.

Hi!

Thanks for your question. But I'm not sure, if I understand the provided link with the feature request for content controls correctly.

By the way, my request for "textfields" is officially called "Text Box" in English Word versions. You can find it here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/insert-and-format-field-codes-in-word-2010-HA101830917.aspx?CTT=1#BM2.

I hope this helps in determining what feature I meant.

Please be reminded, that exporting the feature to PDF files is also important.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us!

Could you please elaborate on what exactly you'd expect from such feature? The reason I am asking is that MS Word supports two types of TextBox-like functionality. One of them is FormText fields which are inline elements. The other is TextBoxes which allow for absolute positioning and are already in our to-do list with respective feedback item http://feedback.telerik.com/Project/143/Feedback/Details/113730-radrichtextbox-implement-support-for-content-controls-textbox-checkbox-etc.

Kind regards,
Petya
