GridView: Control whether selection is compacted on copying
Currently, when a user selects multiple rows, but skips a few, and then copies, the data in the Clipboard will look as if the selected rows were in an uninterrupted sequence. Unselected columns, on the other hand, leave a "hole" in the clipboard data. This

Correction, Excel will copy the blank rows if they are blank, but if they have content and you didn't select them, they are omitted.

If you copy three column cells from a row, skip a couple rows, then copy the same three column cells on the next row, the empty row is dropped and isn't pasted into Excel.
