Hello, 

It seems that this issue is related to the fact that EntityFramework Core is lacking LINQ GroupBy translation. This feature is included in the Version 2.1 Roadmap of EntityFramework Core: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dotnet/2018/02/02/entity-framework-core-2-1-roadmap/ . After it is implemented we believe that this problem will be resolved. If that is not the case we will investigate further following that release.
