Add grouping to Kendo UI for Vue Native Drop Down List

I was looking through the documentation for the native drop down list and did not see an example for grouping like the wrapper drop down list has. https://www.telerik.com/kendo-vue-ui/components/datasource/datasource/grouping/ I would like to request a group functionality for the native drop down list.

As of R2 2023, the default icon type will be SVG instead of Font. See this blogpost for more information.

Hello,

The inbuilt grouping for the dropdowns (AutoComplete, Combobox, DropDownList and MultiSelect) was added in R2 2023 - https://www.telerik.com/kendo-vue-ui/components/dropdowns/dropdownlist/.

Hi,

Just a short update about this feature - we are still planning to add this feature as a build in functionality in the near future as soon as possible.

In the meantime - here is a temporary custom solution - https://stackblitz.com/edit/pkxi8j how it can be achieved with the current version of the components.

Hi Vincent,

The current feature request is a valid one and surely will be implemented in the future. At this time we cannot commit to a specific period when the feature will be available.

What I've done is to raise the internal priority of the feature request. This priority update means that once we plan the implementation of specific Feature requests, the current one will appear upper in the list. The other factor based on which the priority of the request will be updated are the users' votes. If the request collects more votes, its priority will be additionally raised.

I understand that the above answer is not what you hoped for but this is what we can do with the request at the current moment.

Hello Seuthes,

The requested DropDownList functionality is not in our plans for the next release cycle.

I can see that you've already voted for the current feature request. This is what you can do for the moment. The more votes the request collects, the bigger the chance for its sooner implementation is.

You can also subscribe to the current thread. Thus once there is a change in its status, you will be notified about it.
