Notification text is not announced by screen readers

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a notification and a button to toggle it
  2. Run a screen reader such as NVDA or JAWS
  3. Toggle the notification to appear

Expected result: The text in the notification is read by the screen reader when the notification appears

Actual result: The notification text is not read out

Hello,

Thank you for your report, Andrew. You are right, currently, KendoReact Notification doesn't support some of the required accessibly options, therefore I have logged this issue in our git repo as well to ensure that the team is aware with the problem. You can track all the updates there:

In addition, our team works over a lot of improvements in the topic, and expects to realize them in the first quarter of 2023. For the time being, you can use a similar workaround as a possible solution for your need:
