TreeList State Management

Hello,

It would be great to have the same state management functionality in the TreeList component as provided for the Grid component.

https://www.telerik.com/kendo-angular-ui/components/grid/persist-state

As a minimum saving and restoring columns state (visibility, width, order, sort, ...) should be provided.

Best regards,
Holger

Hello Victor,

Thank you for this feedback.

You raise an excellent point about feature parity between the Grid and TreeList components. We absolutely understand the value of having consistent functionality across similar components.

The TreeList and Grid do share many common patterns, and we actively work to reuse implementations where possible. However, some features require different approaches for both, which resulted in such differences.

Please keep an eye on this feature request. We will update its status once there is any update on it.

This would be nice for us to have as well. I see that the grid receives quite a significant number of improvements every release, such as the native multi-checkbox filter component, but the TreeList does not. I don't see any reason why the TreeList shouldn't have feature parity with the grid, considering they are very similar components, just with a different data hierarchy.

Hello Martin,

So far it is not a requirement, only a "nice to have". This may be change in the future.

Holger

Hi Holger,

Having state management for the TreeList would be a good addition to the component's feature set.

If this feature is urgent for your project, I can suggest exploring our Feature Acceleration program. This program allows prioritizing and developing features critical to your application’s success. If you’re interested, I can connect you with our Professional Services team to discuss further.
