I want to be able to distribute the columns of the grid as a percentage of the total width.

I had already made an entry in the Foum about it.

https://www.telerik.com/forums/is-there-a-way-for-percentage-column-widths

Link to the demo with the css workaround:

https://stackblitz.com/edit/angular-y8y55s

The main intention is that I want to be able to specify the column width in percentage values rather than fixed pixel values.

There are some edge cases that must be considered:

  1. If columns are rearranged, the column width is taken to the new position.
  2. If the table is grouped, the columns in the group remain aligned below the column headers.
  3. If a column is manually resized, the behavior changes, the table is allowed to grow beyond 100% and gets a scrollbar.

Hi Florentin,

We are declining this request due to low interest and demand. If it turns out to be popular in the future, we will reconsider the status.

Hi Florentin,

Thank you for the provided feedback.

Indeed, the requested functionality would be a valuable addition to the Grid. We will further investigate whether it is possible to be added to the current Grid implementation. We will also consider providing the functionality via a directive which receives the columns widths in percentages and then converts the percentages to pixels and applies them to the columns.

Thank you for the provided feedback once again.

Svetlin
