As this feature is already implemented, the issue can be marked as "Completed".

Hello Bill,
Thank you for the kind words.
The Selection functionality indeed did not make the cut for the initial release, but is one of the next major features we will be working on, and should be available for the next major R2 release or sooner.

The only thing I've found missing so far is the basic SelectionEvent/row-selection capability. The documentation is also missing that section so I'm curious if it is just not documented or is the beta missing that functionality at this point?
Other than that, I'm pretty thrilled with the amount of features and functionality you've included in this initial release. Thanks for that! :)

That is good news. I assumed with just follow the NPM install directions mentioned on "Obtaining Development Builds" page? Is there any documentation available for it yet?

Hi all,
The initial version of the TreeList is available on the development site.
It took a little longer than anticipated, but we hope the wait was worth it. Enjoy!

Hello,
We apologize for the short delay, but I can assure you that the initial version of the TreeList component will be released in the upcoming days. The development team is working on finalizing the documentation and runnable demos.
The Roadmap announcement is related to the planning for the upcoming months and includes TreeList improvements, but this does not mean that releasing the component is postponed for the R2 release - again it should be released very soon.

I'm sure all of our questions will be answered at the webinar for the Angular 2020 release. If not the presenter can be sure of a rocky ride. And I think it will be a rocky ride given that the announcements are going to be paltry, I wonder how they're actually going to fill the time allotted given the parsity of the subject matter (i.e. new functionality and components for Angular)....

I don't want to grab the thread for complains but still.
Exactly what I am thinking for the past 2 years. Why Angular is getting so low attention. Angular is probably the most appropriated platform for large (enterprise) applications. So we need components from third party. Small apps can handle default components suites.
There is no hope for getting Spreadsheet and other really complicated components.
And because I am really in a mood:
New Form Creation Guidelines
Standalone Pager Component
Cell Selection, Expand & Collapse State Persistance, and Performance Improvements to the Data Grid
Improvements to the TreeList Component
What is this? Did anyone check Feedback portal? This should be number one (if not the one) source what features should be added to Kendo UI.

The most disappointing part is that the React library TreeList received 4 major feature enhancements while Angular suite users continue to wait for the component to even appear. :(

Seems crazy that React and Vue are receiving more attention from Progress-Telerik than Angular. Especially the latter, Vue is 1/5 the size of Angular in terms of contributors, commits and Stack Overflow questions. Why are you pushing Angular so far down the priority pipeline?
I am in the exact same situation. We were told the TreeList would in either the R1 2020 or shortly afterward. We are absolutely desperate to get the functionality that the React and Vue suites have had for quite a while. This is a massive problem for us.

Hi!
We were hopping to see the TreeList component as part of the R1 2020 release as mentionned recently but it seems to be postponed to the R2 2020 release... is there any chance to publish beta or RC? We heavily need it as part of our migration process.
Thanks!

Dimiter: any chance we can get access to the repository so we can start checking out the TreeList right away? Or will we just be able to add it to the package.json next week to try it out?
Thanks

Hi Bryan,
I am glad to inform you that the initial version of the TreeList component is in an advanced stage of development, and we will do our best to release it alongside the January 2020 official release, scheduled for next week, or soon thereafter.

Please provide the TreeList view soon. Not having this has been a major pain point.

Hi,
Creating a dedicated Kendo UI for Angular TreeList component is a part of our midterm plans, and initial R&D should start later this year. Meanwhile you can use the Kendo UI for jQuery TreeList widget, as described in the following section of our documentation:

Please make available TreeList component as soon as possible in Kendo Angular UI. We do need the component in our products.

This component is what we really needed when we bought the angular version of the kendo tools. Unfortunately, it wasn't available.

I believe the TreeList Component needs to be developed for Angular 2 as fast as possible.
