Accessibility bug: Screen reader does not provide any information about the month after activating "Next/previous" month controls.


Environment (OS, Application, Versions)

OS: window 11 verion 21H2 (OS Build 22000.795)
Browser:

Screen Reader: NVDA 2022.1

 

Repro-Steps:

  1. Open Telerik Web UI Calendar Overview Demo | Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX
  2. Navigate to calendar.
  3. Navigate to Next/Previous month ('<,<<,>,>>) button and activate it.
  4. Verify the issue.
Actual Result:
Screen reader does not provide any information about the month after activating "Next/previous" month controls.

Expected Result:
Screen reader should announce the information about the month after activating "Next/previous" month controls.

Hi eDAD,

Please enable the EnableAriaSupport="true" and EnableKeyboardNavigation="true" features of RadCalendar and test again.

You can perform the same test shown in the video within the WAI-ARIA support demo of RadCalendar - you'll find out that NVDA will read the month after navigating to another month through the Next and Previous buttons.
