Please bring RadTaskBoard to ASP.NET AJAX

Please, please, please bring the new RadTaskBoard to ASP.NET AJAX!

I was just reviewing the RadTileList and trying to figure out how to do a Kanban board with your controls, and came across what you just released via the RadTaskBoard, and that would be absolutely perfect to have for ASP.NET AJAX.

Thank you!

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the feedback, Wayne!

Our developers will take all of your suggestions into consideration once the item is planned for implementation.

Kind regards,

Thanks for the suggestion Vessy.

I'm actually very familiar with RadDock as I use it for our Dashboard implementation.

RadDock doesn't have the level of state transparency required for knowing the order of all individual cards because it is all behind the LoadDockLayout and SaveDockLayout. It works fine if you have one-person seeing one-dashboard, but if you have "cards" that need to be shared among several people, you need to know the exact state of each card to build and save the dock dynamically each and every time.

RadDock also doesn't support swim lanes.

We've also came across some quirks where changes in the underlying page will completely corrupt the "state" and leave all docks in a pile. It's just very touchy.

Anyways, I appreciate the suggestion. Fingers crossed this gets added in the future. I saw people are asking for the same for Blazor.

Hi,

Sure, Wayne, each release we review all feature requests and plan the most wanted ones for implementation.

Meanwhile you could use RadDock for implementing your own drag-and-drop-cards scenario. You can use the following demo as a base:

Thank you Vessy. I really hope you do or else we'll have to consider migrating to SyncFusion as they have a Kanban board product for ASP.NET AJAX:

https://www.syncfusion.com/jquery/aspnet-web-forms-ui-controls/kanban-board

Even if you had the "Sortable Control" for ASP.NET AJAX, which you have for other products, we could probably build our own Kanban, but that's not available either.

It would be really nice if you would keep contributing more to the ASP.NET AJAX library.

Hi Wayne,

Thank you for submitting this feature request. We will consider the implementation of a RadTaskBoard control in a future release depending on the demand for it.

Kind regards,
Vessy
