Yes, the RadSearchBox does not always search on the correct string. 

The times I have encountered this is when:
* I type a character.
* The SearchBox begins to search.
* I type another character while the search is still being performed.
* The search is not completed within the time for "_requestDelay" which spawns another search.
* When the first search is complete the result is shown. The second search result is discarded.
